Crowley During
the colony times a depraved English Lord is accused of witchcraft and hanged.
Before he dies , the wizard swears revenge against the whole town. Three
hundred years later, in a full moon night, a young couple makes love on
the grass, unaware something is slowly coming back from the grave. "Crowley"
stands as one of the unique vampire stories ever made in South America,

Trivia:
Provided
the fact that the main transportation of the production was a small motorcycle,
it was a common thing to see Islas dressed up as a vampire, riding his
motorbike with cast or crew members from one location to another.
As it was
released on television, this flick got so famous that even local soccer
teams would be named Crowley!

FEATHER CUSHION was
the first ALPHA Studios flick that was nationally awarded and launched
Ricardo Islas to the media attention.
Intense suspense
surrounds Alice, a young married woman, whose only mistake was to
buy a feather cushion to some gypsies. Scientific horror skillfully combined
with esoteric elements, produce a terrifying sense of permanent domestic
danger. Mysteriously Alice's life gets consumed as nobody can cure her
from something unknown. The last twenty minutes of this picture lack dialogues,
making the most prevented audiences shake all over. This made critics call
Feather Cushion's director, a new John Carpenter.
Trivia:

Special Effects
for dinner...One of the scenes required a woman's head breaking up as a
horrid bug comes from inside. To achieve this effect in a realistic way,
Islas bought brain at a regular butchery. Unaware of the infamous activities
of his son, Ricardo's father found the brains in the refrigerator and became
them in the family delicious dinner for that night.

blood thirsty vampire strikes in this sequel. The bizarre elements that
were present in the first one are increased in this second one. Diabolic
rituals, perversity, sadism and a violent vampires fight, are just some
ingredients of this black jewel that reminds glorious Hammer films epoch.
Trivia:
During
the shoot of "Crowley's Ashes", a dummy was thrown from the seventh floor
of an apartment building. Many people saw that and thought it was a real
suicide, so the police was notified. Traffic would stop and the mess was
so huge, it even came up in the media!

The whole
movie is based on a real event! Even an article from a newspaper that at
some point is read in one particular scene, announcing the extraterrestrial
invasion is a real article that came out in the media! See to believe...

FULLMOON stands
as one of the best or probably the best flick from the South American period.
Produced with a budget of less than a thousand dollars!, it was awarded
by the International Cinemateca Film Festival of Uruguay, beating productions
of over a hundred thousand dollars.
It also won
the Best Foreign movie award during the Low-B
Film Festival of New York in August 1999.
Bloody crimes
shake a little village. A bunch of teenagers discover the cause of these
killings is a werewolf that has arrived to stay. Things turn real wild
when the werewolf discovers them. Fresh and dynamic, this tape reminds
70's TV movies. But when you are enjoying comedy, everything changes drastically
and killing scenes become ultra violent. Only for strong stomach spectators
!
Trivia:
The werewolf
that is shown only in the last minutes of the flick, was hand-made out
of sponge and cotton...A MUST SEE!

BAD BLOOD Sex
and suspense in a great solid story. An ordinary man looses his job. As
a result of a job hunting trip, he gets involved in a passionate
sexual relation with a mysterious wild woman. An apparent act with no consequences
that will become his life into a nightmare. She has infected his blood
with hers. With something wild and criminal.
Trivia:
In the original
script, most of the climatic scenes had to do with a train station. The
local producer told Islas there was no way to access the train station
the night before they would start shooting...As a result of this, the whole
script had to be reviewed and mostly re-written overnight...
The whole
sound track is dubbed, since there was no money to record direct sound.
During the dubbing process, some actors didn't show up...Eleven different
voices had to be played by Islas and that includes a scared cow!
